Highland Capital Management is a big supporter of the George W. Bush Presidential Center that is located in Dallas, Texas. At the beginning of 2018 they gave this center a $10 million endowment gift, for instance. The money will be used to continue a number of this organization’s public programs. The development of the new series sponsored by Highland Capital Management was announced on January 9th, 2018. It was jointly announced by James Dondero, the president of Highland Capital Management and one of its co-founders, and also Bush Presidential Center chief executive officer Kenneth Hersh. When announcing the partnership Hersh said that Highland Capital Management had been one of the earliest supporters of the center and had a big hand in what it became. He thanked them for their endowment gift which he viewed as an investment in the center’s mission.

When speaking about the Bush Presidential Center, James Dondero said that he appreciated the impact that it had on both the local community and its impact nationally. He thinks that there are many important policy issues that the Engage series will address. He is also a supporter of the Bush Center’s long-term vision and the work that they perform.
Each year Highland Capital will now host Engage series events due to the endowment gift. Another development was that James Dondero has been named to the Executive Advisory Council that Kenneth Hersh has set up to help guide the mission of the Bush Presidential Center.
On February 5th the first Impact series event will be held. This free event, that one must register for, is going to be a two-part program that has been developed in a partnership with the National Constitution Center. The name of it is “Constitutional Conversations: Justice Scalia’s Memorable Speeches / James Madison & Today’s Media”. On hand will be Christopher Scalia who is the son of Antonin Scalia, the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice.
