Charlotte Perriand originally designed the now iconic “Tokyo” bench for the house of her husband Jacques Martin in Tokyo. The model exemplifies the architect’s fascination with Japan, its material culture and traditions, which had a tremendous impact on her artistic vision following her first trip there in June 1940
